Creating hyper-links
Previous Top Next |
| ReadPlease allows you to launch any Internet links (URLs, uniform resource locators) as well as other files on your computer.
| For example if you type in:
| ReadPlease will automatically become a hyperlink to that website. Note the color of these links is set in Tools|Options Appearance - General .
| Links to email addresses are also supported. To make a link to an email address, enter it as:
| help@cnn.com
| These links will be displayed as shown..
| When you click on an Internet address, it will launch your browser. Your email program will be launch with the To: filled out with the address that you clicked on.
| Links to other files
| ReadPlease also allows you to link to files on your computers. These could be other ReadPlease files (with extension .rpps or .txt) or any file such as a Microsoft Word document (extension .doc).
| To create a link to a file, just type in the file name like this:
| [Main.rpps] or [Letter2.doc]
| and if the file Main.rpps is in the same folder as the current file you are viewing, ReadPlease will launch that file. You can specify files with paths like this:
| [C:\Readings\Main.rpps]
| but be aware if you are sharing files with others, they will need to have a folder called:
| C:\Readings
| You may find many uses for ReadPlease's ability to linking of files. A very large text file for a book could easily be broken down into chapters, with a table of contents file linking to each chapter.
| You might want to enter your favorite Internet sites and email addresses into ReadPlease and save the file for future reference.
