If you are saving files with ReadPlease and they are important files, you will want to make a backup copy of these files.

ReadPlease files are simple text files. These files have the extension .rpps (ReadPlease Plus Speech). ReadPlease can also open any plain text file (.txt) file. All word processors can save files as plain text.

If you just save files from ReadPlease, they may be found in a folder called "MyReadings" which is most likely in the folder:

c:\Program Files\ReadPlease 2003\MyReadings

You may also want to back up your pronunciation dictionary. These files have the extension .rpdt and are usually located here:

C:\Program Files\ReadPlease 2003\Language\USEnglish.rpdt

Note that each language has its own pronunciation dictionary.
