How to change pronunciation of words to ReadPlease
You may just go ahead and type into the area above, press [Enter] to add words.
Press [Sort] button if you want to sort your list alphabetically.
Words must be entered in this format:
word=pronunciation
Examples:
Ont.=Ontario
RPC=Reed Please Corporation
Note that we define ReadPlease, as Reed Please, so it is always pronounced correctly (and not "Red Please").
What is at the left of the equal sign is the word for which you want a new pronunciation. At the right of the equal sign is how you want ReadPlease to pronounce it.
By default, words with lower case letters will not be case sensitive.
If you want to add an acronym, and only have it pronounced if it is ALL CAPS, just use two equal signs. For example:
CAN==Canadian Association of Nerds
Then, a sentence like this will be read correctly (notice two can's):
"I can become a member of CAN."
You may easily share custom pronunciations with other ReadingBar users. Do this by copying and pasting into the area above. For example a friend may email you a list of their pronunciations, and you can copy from your email into ReadingBar Options.
